Configuring your Mac computer for dbRASweb
This page provides instructions on how to configure your Mac to connect to dbRASweb.
Section 1: Installing Java
- Click the link provided here: Java Downloads
- Click View Accounts button on the top right corner of the web page.
- Click Create an Account.
- Enter your email address and other details in the appropriate fields. Be sure to complete all the required fields.
- Click Create Account.
- After your account is created, you'll receive a confirmation email at the email address that you provided.
- Follow the instructions in the email to verify your email address.
Part II: Download and install latest version
- Click Java JDK 8 Downloads to be re-directed.
Note: Recommendation is to use the latest version of Java JDK 8, which may not be displayed in the image above
- Click Accept License Agreement and then click the .dmg file to download.
- Once the download is complete, navigate to Finder > Downloads; click jdk-8uxxx- macosx-x64.dmg to open installer.
- Once the Java installer has started, click Continue.
- Click Install to begin the process.
- When prompted, enter your MacOS password and click Install Software.
- Once the installation is finished, click Close.
- Please restart your machine.
Section 2: Installing Citrix Receiver
- Browse to Citrix Workspace
- Click Download Citrix Workspace app for Mac as shown below.
- Once the download is complete, navigate to Finder > Downloads folder and click dmg.
- Click Install Citrix Workspace to launch the installer.
- Click Continue to step through the installer. Click Agree to accept the terms.
- Enter your macOS password when prompted.
- Once the installation is finished, click Close.
Section 3: Configuring Safari
Safari: Version 11
- Navigate to Safari > Preferences >
- Uncheck the box next to Block Pop-up Windows.
Safari: Version 12 and Above
- In the left pane under General, select Content Blockers.

Note: You can enable these settings later for other websites, but please ensure these are disabled for dbRASweb usage.
Section 4: Connecting to your Virtual Desktop for MacOS
Internals dbrasweb.db.com
Externals/Vendors dbrasweb-ext.db.com
- Choose your nearest location and how you wish to authenticate, then click Login.
- Enter your login credentials and click Sign In
- Please click the Download button to download Pulse Secure’s Application Launcher.
- To open the Pulse Secure Application Launcher package, navigate to Downloads
> PulseSecureAppLauncher.dmg. (You only have to install this one time)
- Click Install as shown below.
- Once installation finished, click Close.
- Click Here to be redirected back to Host Checker homepage.
- On the Host Checker home page, you will see the following pop-up message for “PulseApplicationLauncher”, click Allow.
- On the following pop-up message, click
- Click Always on the following pop-up messages. (Note: If you select Always then this won’t appear again when you connect next time)
- Please enter your MacOS admin password and then click Enter.
- After entering your MacOS admin credentials, JSAM will launch. (Typically this will load in the bottom left corner of mac desktop)
- dbGroupUA will automatically launch from this page. Or to manually open, click Launch dbGroupUA button as shown below.
- Login into dbGroupUA.
- After successful logon and in case of multiple Desktops/Apps, click on the desktop you want to start.
- Navigate to the Downloads folder and click on the Citrix Workspace .ica file as shown below.
- You will see this message appear that states “Starting desktop...
- Finally, a Citrix window will appear hosting your Windows virtual desktop.
***If you are unable to connect to your virtual desktop after following the above step. Please find the below troubleshooting steps***
Troubleshooting I: Verifying Java Version and Uninstallation.
- To Launch the Java Control, Click on the Apple icon on upper left of screen.
- Go to System Preferences.
- Click on the Java icon to access the Java Control Panel.
- Click About to view information about the Java version.
Note: If you have Java JDK’s latest version installed, please skip to the Installing Citrix Workspace section. Otherwise, please continue to Section 2 below.
- Open Spotlight search by clicking in the upper-right corner of the menu bar, or press Command-Space bar.
- In the search field, type Terminal as shown below.
- In the terminal window, copy and paste one command at a time and execute each command below (MacOS password required after running first command):
Note: You will not see your password populate characters as you type, please take your time. sudo rm -rf /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk sudo rm -fr /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin sudo rm -fr /Library/PreferencePanes/JavaControlPanel.prefPane sudo rm -fr ~/Library/Application\ Support/Java
- Type the folder’s pathname /Library/Java, then click Go.
- Verify the Java folder is empty.
- Please restart your machine.
Troubleshooting II: Verify MacOS Application Firewall is enabled
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
- Click Security & Privacy.
- Click the Firewall
- Unlock the pane by clicking the lock in the lower-left corner and enter the administrator username and password.
- Click Turn On Firewall to enable the firewall.
- Please restart your machine.
